 at the Pikes Peak United Way Family Success Center (1520 Verde Dr, Colorado Springs)! 

Celebrate Children’s Day with a joyful day of hands-on activities, cultural experiences, and family fun. This annual festival brings the spirit of Japan to Colorado Springs and welcomes children and families of all backgrounds.
New this year: extended festival hours so families can enjoy even more activities!

11:30 am - 11:55 am - United States Karate Academy 

12:00 pm - 12:45 pm - Sun Mountain Taiko

12:50 pm - 1:15 pm - Okinawan Kenjin Kai

1:20 pm - 1:25 pm - Gala Fashion show 

1:30 pm - 1:55 pm - Sun Mountain Taiko with audience participation

What to Expect

Enjoy a variety of interactive stations and performances, including:

● Origami crafting

● Make-your-own koinobori (carp streamers)

● Traditional Japanese games such as kendama and daruma otoshi

● Modern festival games like bouncy ball scoop and shooting gallery

● Live musical and martial arts demonstrations, with opportunities to participate

● Gala Children’s Fashion Show featuring kimono, yukata, martial arts uniforms, and Asian-inspired outfits – dress to impress!

Admission

● JASSC Members: Free — simply show your JASSC ID at check‐in

○ To access your digital ID, go to our website, log in, and click “View profile” (a new feature!)

● Non-members:

○ $5 per adult
○ Children under 18: Free
○ Family maximum cost: $10

PARKING INFO:

Parking lots are shown in yellow in the image below. The red arrow indicates the entrance. There is a parking lot on the west side of the building, in front of the main entrance. However, there's a chance that it may be crowded/full that day, so please note the additional parking area on the east side of the building, accessible from the north entrance at Verde Dr. If all lots are full, guests can also park on Shasta Drive, or on other side-streets.
