Conversation Over Cookies

Hosted by JASSC

This is a monthly event where Japanese speakers will stay in place at a table with a board/card game and English speakers will jump around where they want to play. We will try to speak in Japanese as much as possible! Any level of speakers are welcome!
Cost:    Free to JASSC members 
Non-members are welcome to join with $5/family donation to JASSC

Kayoko Jennings

About: Born in Tokyo, Japan. After working for some business industries in Tokyo, she received a Japanese teaching licence from Pana-Lingua Institute of Japanese Language, Tokyo. Kayoko has been teaching Japanese conversation, reading and writing through JASSC since 2002.

Preferred mode of teaching: Online only, individual and group okay

Preferred Levels: Beginner, intermediate, advanced, and business

Preferred Lesson Times: Monday - Thursday, most lessons after 3 pm

Molly Adkins

About: “I am a retired high school teacher of Japanese and ESL with 30 years experience in the public school classroom in both Japan and Indiana. I moved to Japan directly out of university where I resided for 11 years, while studying Japanese language, culture and music. I have JPLT Level 1, MA in Ethnomusicology from Tokyo Geijutsu Daigaku. I have been awarded teacher of the year by three different organizations in Indiana. My list of achievements can be found here: https://sekaipress.com/your-japanese-tutor/.  

I moved to Colorado in Nov. 2021, and currently live in and work as a sound healing practitioner and instructor of sound healing and yoga in Manitou Springs. I am also currently putting the high school curriculum that I created as a high school teacher into an online platform.”

Preferred mode of teaching: Online or In-Person

Area of Town: Old Colorado City, Manitou Springs, West COS

Preferred Levels: Any

Preferred Lesson Times: Weekdays, morning through late afternoon

Fee: Private lessons are $97/class or $348/month/4 classes. For students who use my course membership at only $27/month, I have online free office hours 4 times a month on Tuesdays at 3:30 - 4:30 PM.
